Financing

Onconova has financed its development with a blend of equity and non-dilutive vehicles. In addition to the seed round funded by the three founders, subsequent Preferred Stock offerings have included individual investors and funds. Most recent round, Series G was in 2009. The founders and many of the early investors have invested in later rounds of financing. All key investors have board representation.

Non-Equity Funding

A significant amount of funding has been obtained from non-equity sources. We have secured non-dilutive funding from Government contracts and grants, including SBIR funds for our radiation protection, cancer, and inflammation programs. These revenues have permitted us to diversify our early stage research projects and to develop productive collaborations with leading scientists in academia. Additionally, Ben Franklin Technology Partners, a Philadelphia-based fund, has provided convertible debt financing to support one of our programs.
